An open structure
For Pascarella, theory is not a stylistic cage. It supports research and can accommodate transformations and apparent contradictions between figuration, abstraction, mark, matter and colour.
“Theory is only a serious structural guide to refer to.”
This formulation, revisited by the artist in 1992, clarifies the relationship between thought and practice: continuity does not depend on visual uniformity, but on the investigation of energy and the tensions within the image.
The cycles
Pulsio Art runs through different families of works: abstract and figurative compositions, new landscapes, metallic and plastic organic reticular works — identified in the archive as ROMP — and later spray experiments. The catalogue keeps these strands separate and searchable without flattening them into a single label.
Edition of the texts
Before final publication, manifestos, typescripts and reviews will be checked against the originals. Linguistic variants, dates and quotations will be attributed to their precise sources.
